pero todo esto ocurre en esta suerte de cuarta dimensión que es la memoria.
(J. L. Borges)
Memory is the common ground on which strategies converge: the species, societies and individuals, all need it to keep the past and move towards the future.
This series of lectures will discuss new, complementary insights from heterogeneous areas: humanities, literature, science and technology. We'll see how memory is based on processes that shape life, how dynamics in the neuronal system help to manage personal memories, and how the human psyche develops and functions. We will look into the attempts throughout the centuries to develop tools to capture knowledge, how we reconstruct the past from literary evidence, and how power shapes the memory of societies. We will deal with technical means to store information and how they have created the world's largest shared memory: the WWW.
